    Our offshore boat. GrayLight launches from Huntington Harbour, Dana Point and Shelter Island to hop kelp paddies for dorado, grind for yellowtail, and chase tuna and marlin when the water turns blue.

    Bought sight unseen in Oregon, hauled home through Reno, and towed to the ramp by a Tesla Model Y. Fifteen feet, a 60 HP Mercury, and somehow twelve miles offshore hunting wahoo.

    The reason for the whole challenge. Ericka chased her first yellowtail for eight months, from the Coronado Islands to Catalina, before landing a personal best at Izor's Reef.

    Five generations on the Mississippi

    Before the Pacific, there was the river. Five generations of our family have fished the same stretch of the Mississippi at De Soto, Wisconsin, and we still go back for walleye, sauger and a catch-and-cook.

    Giving back

    Measuring fish for science

    We volunteer as Scientific Observers with the Sportfishing Association of California, measuring barred sand bass for Fish & Wildlife research so the fishery is still here for the next five generations.
